Doctor of Philosophy in

Computer Science (Ph.D)

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree program in computer science prepares students for research and teaching careers in academia and for research and technical careers in industry and government. This program provides the students with an opportunity to solve complex problems in their area of interest. It is divided up into a series of milestones which every student progresses through on the way to the degree.

Requirements

MS/M. Phil (18 years of education) or equivalent degree in the relevant field from HEC recognized University/ Institute.
CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the Semester System) or First Division (in the Annual System)
Subject Test:
A subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) in the area of specialization chosen at the PhD level must be cleared prior to admission for the PhD Program or the candidate may appear in the following test scheduled.
a. In the case of GAT Subject test a minimum of 60% marks is required to pass the test.
b. In the case GRE subject test, a minimum 60% Percentile Score is required to pass the test.
c. If the Test is not available in NTS subject list, then a University Committee consisting of at least 3 Ph.D
faculty members in the subject area and approved by the HEC will conduct the Test at par with GRE Subject Test and qualifying score for this will be 70% score.
